Memories Collection
As I painted these pieces, I noticed that many captured in feeling certain memories that they then consciously resurrected. I thought about why those memories stayed with me, and whether or not they were reasons I would call ‘good,’ and whether or not that mattered.
What I did try to do was finish each piece in an aspect of that memory's goodness, even if at the time, or now, it might not really seem so. Not because I am very fixated on optimism, but because I have gotten to live. And I live with a hope that believes that the final word will be a good one.
I hope these pieces walk with you back to places where you need company, or compassion. I hope they are gentle, and hold you in rest. And, where they can, I hope they leave you in warmth and light.
